Goldman Sachs’ 25 new European investment banking MDs

Yesterday, Goldman Sachs named 638 new managing directors. Nearly 450 were in the front office. At least 25 seem to have been in European investment banking.

Goldman’s investment banking business includes M&A advisory and the capital solutions group, which was created in January 2025. 

The capital solutions group, in turn, includes everything from financing, to origination, structuring and risk management. This year’s IBD recruits in Europe are a mix of both.

They are:

Miquel Barbone. Based in Milan 

Shervin Ghassemi. Real estate finance. London

Marine Epailly Head of EMEA FinTech, based in London.

Marshall Coltrain. Energy banker, London. 

Tom Hartley. Based in London

Amit Puri. A London based infrastructure banker

Akanchsha Singh. Goldman’s London co-head of energy transition M&A

Jorge Torrecilla.  A FIG banker based in London.

Cara Pazdon. UK ECM.

Adam Laikin. ECM and corporate broking in London

Jamie Macdonald. FIG M&A London.

Stephen Krueger. Based in Warsaw, CEE M&A 

Blanca Almoguera. Real estate finance in London. 

Adam Khalil. Structured finance in London.  

Javier Villota. A London-based ECM banker covering Southern Europe. Based in Madrid.  

Thomas Munk: Technology, media telecoms. London

Chris Campbell. Equity derivatives on the private side. 

Will Wells.  Investment grade DCM, syndicate. Paris 

Jonathan Abraham. London, structured finance and lending 

Will O’Brien: Structured finance 

Dimitris Kofitsas. Capital solutions group origination for Greece & emerging markets 

Jonathan Crawford. Capital solutions group, derivatives. London

Alberto Ricci: Derivatives. Paris 

Deniz Yildiz: High yield syndicate. London. 

Nikos Spiliopoulos: Leveraged finance, London. 

Cathy Chen:  Industrials M&A. London.  

Germain Petit: Consumer retail M&A. London.

Konstantin Eisenreich: Munich, investment banking.

Christoph Hofer: Frankfurt, industrials.

Antoine Rupp-Dahlem: M&A, Paris.

Guillaume Amar, technology banker, Paris.
